Everyone has a tv show or program that they love. While actually watching these shows helps us get into the characters worlds, their ads on tv rarely ever do them justice. They might actually be very confusing or conflicting to the actually plot of the show, especially those around us who have never seen them. So to prove my point, I had my friends make a list of five shows that I’ve heard of but never actually watched. I’m going to do my best to try to summarize them. Here goes nothing.
5. Parks and Recreation
As far as I know Parks and Recreation is some kind of comedy show. It features chubby Chris Pratt (before he go all hot for Jurassic Park) and Amy Poehler who I only know from Mean Girls (“I'm a cool mom.”) From the title I assume they fix parks ? And re-create stuff?
4. Gilmore Girls
I've seen a collected total of about 2 minutes of Gilmore Girls on accident in the morning. Personally i thought it and One Tree Hill were basically the same but I've been told the two shows aren't similar. I know there’s a mom and a daughter who give off some kind of Hallmark-relationship vibe. Like they seem like they would have lots of long talks about boys and love and their places in the universe. I dont have the tolerance to watch and find out.
3. Downton Abbey
I've heard of Downton Abbey for a few years now. (I've only recently become aware its not pronounced Down-town Abbey). While I don’t know much, I do know that it's about British people in a time before light bulbs were invented. From the dramatic violins played in the commercials it's clearly a drama. I'm going to assume there is lots of adultery and tea drinking. Which is common amongst old-timey British shows. A question I have “Is Downton Abbey a building or more of a general place?”
2. The Flash
I know the Flash is a new show. To me its just another super hero show. A white-male protagonist has a secret identity that he has to hide from pretty much everyone but two or three people. He struggles to save everyone and of course it's fun until a “real villain” comes and then it gets serious. Now maybe I’m wrong and anyone is welcome to call me out, but the superhero shows are basically all the same.
- Pretty Little Liars
This show has been promoted since I was in 6th grade. It never looked interesting so I never bothered to watch it. I know its about 4 girls whose other blonde friend dies. There is a person called “A” who could basically be anyone. You would think after 9 years or something the mystery would be solved but another season is coming on. None of them have died so I guess the only suspense is for some secondary characters I don't know anything about.
There you have it. I really gave these summaries my hardest. Hope they’re somewhat like the shows. Let me know if I missed the mark, and I really, really try to watch at least an episode of the show… not! Comment your thoughts to below!
