Game Review: The Division

The game The Division has sparked a lot of interest in the gaming community. Unlike Call of Duty, Division focuses on a real life scenario tested by military simulators. The cast of people behind Tom Clancy games are pushing for the most realistic scenario in a game possible, and are doing a great job at it. Developers have stated that the most real life scenarios were taken into consideration and run through military simulators. The plot of the game is that special agents are dropped at "The Big Apple" that doesn't resemble the New York people have fallen in love with over the years. It is torn apart by thugs, looters, disease, and complete chaos. The developers said they really wanted to transform New York from it's beautiful scenery to a torn up unbelievable site plagued by disease and terrorism.

The Division has a multiplayer set-up that allows people to play with friends, but there is also a place called "the dark zone" where characters search for gear and equipment, but have a chance to turn on their friends for gear and other items. The creators said they expected people to be more aggressive towards each other, but they also wanted to evoke a spirit of fear of betrayal. They wanted players to actually have a hard time turning on each other, but at the same time give opportunity to turn.
I personally am very excited for this game. It is going to take strategy and team work to complete missions and liberate the The Big Apple of all of its problems. If you are a person who likes strategy and not just a run and gun like Call of Duty, then you should definitely get The Division. I have seen the game play and it is very strategic where gameplay is involved. What I also like is that different players have different jobs that you really need and have to rely on each other to succeed.  If you are a realistic gaming junky like myself, go out and grab The Division on March 8.

Purpose???

Has Justin Bieber finally learned to be a decent human being? From his recent activity and by his new music, some people are saying yes. The teenage heartthrob used to appeal to twelve year olds, when one of his first songs, Baby became viral. Since that immature beginning, he has gone through puberty, stardom, and several DUIs. It's debatable when he decided to turn his life around. I personally say it was after the petition for his deportation was rejected, which was heartbreaking for the 100,000 people who signed it, and a national celebration for the country of Canada. Justin Bieber is now a new man, a literal one since his voice finally got deeper. His new album, named Purpose, was released this weekend. It has already sold over 10,000 copies on iTunes. Of course the buildup for this particular debut was huge, especially since this is Justin’s first album since  2013. His chart topping singles, “Where are You Now” with Skrillex, “What Do You Mean,” and “Sorry,” drove people insane, bringing back the Bieber fever in old and new fans alike as well as creating several new earworms that will take the next few months to get rid.  Of course, Justin had plenty of help, including big artists like Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, and Skrillex, to help his songs along. I certainly think that these collabs helped push these tracks over the top, uniting all of these fans in one common goal, or album. Even if I’m still slightly skeptical about his change of heart, Justin Bieber has still got his gift. What do you think? Has Justin found his purpose? Or is this just too little too late?

Highlights from the Microsoft Event

This week Microsoft had held an event on October 6th showing off their devices made to explore Windows 10. While there were so many great contenders, listed below are some of our favorites.
HoloLens
The Microsoft HoloLens is truly amazing device. Using advanced 3-D technology, it brings your computer screen to reality. The HoloLens uses holographic technology to project images onto the world and your surroundings.

Microsoft Lumia 950
The Lumia 950 is the next phone by Microsoft, and runs on Windows 10. As we all know, the camera on a phone is one of the most important things. Well, the Lumia features a 20 MP sensor that captures the world in 4k. This means great photos for both the professionals and the average instagrammer. The Lumia has 32GB of storage, but with a SD card you can expand that even more: however, the thing that makes the Lumia an innovative device is its ability to be used as a PC. That’s right,  you can use a display dock that allows you to connect a monitor as well as keyboard and mouse. The Lumia will be available in November for $549 and $649.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4
The Surface Pro 4 takes the boring laptop/tablet category and changes it entirely. With a 12.3 inch screen and 5 million pixels, and .4mm thick gorilla glass, the new Surface Pro 4 is extraordinary. Like all new “LapLets” the surface comes with the Surface Pen that allows you to take your thoughts and make them into a reality onto your tablet. The Surface Pro 4 is also 50% faster than the MacBook Air, has 16 GB of ram, and 1TB of storage. This great new product comes out October 26 for $899.
Microsoft Surface Book
The Microsoft Surface Book is the first laptop by Microsoft, it has a 13.5 inch screen with 6 million pixels. While it may seem similar to the Surface Pro, it’s actually a polar opposite. With its NVIDIA GeForce GPU and GDDR5 memory, the Surface Book has 2x the power of the MacBook Air. It even plays graphically intensive games, record them, and edit them flawlessly. Plus for those who like to multi-task, the body of the product can detach and be used like a tablet. The Surface Book is available on October 26 and costs $1499 a great price for a laptop with this much potential.
What do you think? Were there any products that you thought deserved to be named? Comment below and let us know!
