Quote of the Week

"You look how you look. Be comfortable. What are you going to do? Be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That's just dumb"
-Jennifer Lawrence

I think everyone needs to hear this because everyone is beautiful in their own way. Just because someone else is gorgeous doesn't mean you aren't too!

Quote of the Day

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope."
-Dr Seuss

Don't be serious all the time. A little nonsense never hurt anyone. People who are serious all the time are never any fun! Many people will tell you that you're acting "childish" but let's be real...being a kid is WAY more fun. Don't do anything too reckless but have fun with your life.

Quote of the Day

"Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same."
-The Fray

Always try to do the right thing even if it's hard. The hardest things in life, most of the time, are the right things to do. Try to befriend that person who most people don't like. Let people see God shine through you. Are those things popular? Are those things easy? NO! But it's beyond worth it in the end.

Quote of the Day

"Life is like a box of chocolates...you have to try everyone else's before you get your own."
-Justin Phillips

It's just what it sounds like. No elaboration necessary. Also, like life, chocolate is a really good thing to be grateful for. Just saying.

Quote of the Day - December 8th

Quote of the Day: December 8th
Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings, and emotions.
-Will Smith

No one should control you...especially people who only like you when you do something they want you to do. I've gone through that and it's hard to realize that the opinions of those people don't matter; however, when you do, you're so much happier. For your own sake, be you no matter what anyone else says.

Quote of the Day: December 7th

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew."
-Pocahontas

Don't judge someone based on their lifestyle. You don't know what people are going through until you take a walk in their shoes. Get to know people rather than judging them immediately. Doing this can help you really get to know people, instead of being immediately judgmental and fake toward them.

Quote of the Day: December 4th

"Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!"
-Dr. Seuss

Use your creativity! You were given it for a reason! Don't just stick to writing or listening to boring things. Use what you’re great at to come up with something new! Get out there and change the world.

Quote of the Day: December 3rd

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
-Tim Notke

Even if you have a natural talent, you still need to work to improve it. Natural talent and ability can only get you so far. Hard work is the best way to get even better at something, and definitely will always trump laziness. Life lesson right there…

Quote of the Day - November 24th

" It takes real skill to choke on air, fall up stairs, and trip over completely nothing...I have that skill."
-Every Tumblr Post Ever

I'm pretty sure everyone has said or felt this at least once in their life. Everyone has those days when they just can't. Can't what? I don't know...just can't anything. That's pretty much me today. People say I look like I have it all together but things aren't always what they look like. I'm definitely accident prone and I'm not ashamed to say it.

Quote of the Day - November 23rd

"The human world...it's a mess."
-Sebastian

There are no other words to describe this. This quote simply says it how it is. The world is truly a mess right now. Things may not change right away but we need to try. It’s clearly up to us to try to help fix it.

November 20th: Quote of the Day

"I've heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead, some come from behind. But I've brought a bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me."
-Dr. Seuss

Be prepared for what life throws at you. Don't let small things beat on you...beat them instead. Dr. Seuss always had many words of wisdom disguised in children's books. You may look funny, but I recommend picking up a Dr. Seuss book and looking for possible life lessons.

Quote of the Day: November 19th

"Everyone wants happiness and no pain, but there's no rainbow without rain"
-Unknown

If life has you down, keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. If you're life is always perfect...you're lying. Everyone has ups and downs but don't think if you're in your "down" that you won't have ups. Life is crazy, and you never know what's going to happen but just keep looking up. There will be better days.

"I like pie. Apple pie to be exact"

-Alexis Goode

This quote was courtesy of the amazing little Lexi, one of my favorite classmates. There's no true meaning behind this other than she really likes apple pie. A little comic relief never hurt anyone and I was tired of doing "inspirational quotes." Hope this made you smile!

Quote of the Day: November 17th

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
-Unknown

Sometimes, in order to see what God has planned for you, you need to step out of what feels "comfortable" to you. For me, that happened recently. In Performing Arts (my Bible class) we are working on a Christmas play. Now I don't know what you know about me, but I do NOT act in front of people...or so I thought. I was “voluntold” to act during the play and I definitely wasn’t comfortable with it at first. Through several lessons and exercises, I’ve learned so much more about perfoming arts and have become much less nervous. However, I've also learned we all are nervous outside of our comfort zones. it’s not about how nervous you are, but rather how you work in spite of your nerves to accomplish something amazing.

Quote of the Day: November 19th

"Who says we have to grow up?"
-Walt Disney

People are going to try to rush us to start acting more  mature and responsible. While there’s nothing wrong with being these things, that doesn’t mean we have to give up everything interesting about ourselves in order to get there. Nothing says fun to some people like dragging kids back to earth. Sometimes we even do it to ourselves by worrying and stressing about things way ahead in the future. But we can’t forget, the time we have as kids is very limited.  We should enjoy our childhood while we have it. You have plenty of time to be "an adult" but only so much time as a kid. But also remember, all we have to do is get older. We don’t have to lose our kid like spirit on the way there.

Quote of the day November 13th

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
-Dr. Seuss

Don't just complain about your problems. Do something to change them. If you constantly tell people your problems, but don't try to problem solve, you're not helping anyone.

Quote of the Day: November 11

“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”
-Oscar Wilde

Don't let people tell you who to be. Be who you want to be and if people don't like it, it’s their loss. Society, magazines, and celebrities will try to tell you that you need to look a certain way  to be “popular,” but what they don't realize is everyone comes in different sizes, shapes, and colors. Embrace your inner you because you are Be-YOU-tiful!!

Quote of the Day: November 12

"If you can't do great things, do small things in a great way." - Napoleon Hill

No matter how small you are, the things you do can be great. Don't let people look down on you because you're "too young" or "too short" or even "not good enough." People will try to tear you down when they see you trying to do amazing things.
