Game Review: The Division

The game The Division has sparked a lot of interest in the gaming community. Unlike Call of Duty, Division focuses on a real life scenario tested by military simulators. The cast of people behind Tom Clancy games are pushing for the most realistic scenario in a game possible, and are doing a great job at it. Developers have stated that the most real life scenarios were taken into consideration and run through military simulators. The plot of the game is that special agents are dropped at "The Big Apple" that doesn't resemble the New York people have fallen in love with over the years. It is torn apart by thugs, looters, disease, and complete chaos. The developers said they really wanted to transform New York from it's beautiful scenery to a torn up unbelievable site plagued by disease and terrorism.

The Division has a multiplayer set-up that allows people to play with friends, but there is also a place called "the dark zone" where characters search for gear and equipment, but have a chance to turn on their friends for gear and other items. The creators said they expected people to be more aggressive towards each other, but they also wanted to evoke a spirit of fear of betrayal. They wanted players to actually have a hard time turning on each other, but at the same time give opportunity to turn.
I personally am very excited for this game. It is going to take strategy and team work to complete missions and liberate the The Big Apple of all of its problems. If you are a person who likes strategy and not just a run and gun like Call of Duty, then you should definitely get The Division. I have seen the game play and it is very strategic where gameplay is involved. What I also like is that different players have different jobs that you really need and have to rely on each other to succeed.  If you are a realistic gaming junky like myself, go out and grab The Division on March 8.
