Nintendo's future console know as code name nx will have be a home console and a portable gaming system. With Nintendo already selling a home system as well as a portable one, could this make them irrelevant? Well if we take a look at the wii u I can honestly tell you that a new console will benefit Nintendo. I say this because if you look at console sales the wii u had sold 10 million units as of last July, but in 2014 Sony had sold more than 10 million. Now let's look at the 3ds, in a world of smartphones the 3ds is actually really good considering it's shipped out over 54 million units, but if Nintendo makes a new system that can be portable as well as a home console, what would that do to the 3ds. What if the portable part of the console can play console games, the 3ds can't do that.
Now Nintendo has said that by this year the nx will be unveiled and sold in stores, so let's just wait and see if Nintendo ends up competing with itself
