Star Wars: Force Awakens is now the top grosser of ALL TIME in the United States. This awesome movie made $8 million as of Monday, but it continues to profit. That’s incredible considering it came out twenty-three days ago, and most movies lose relevance after the first two weeks. This movie, which was episode seven of the Star Wars franchise, was always presumed to rock the box office, but it passed the previous top grosser, Avatar, by $2.8 million.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, there had been jokes that Princess Leia would join the ranks with princesses Snow White and Aurora. There was legitimate concern however, that Disney would fail to make another great Star Wars film and instead screw up the saga. Thankfully, Disney only distributed the movie while Lucasfilm produced it. The amazing movie was directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, who also directed several movies including Star Trek, and Star Trek: Into Darkness. Respect goes to the director and the main actors: John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron.
