Matilda is a movie about a little girl with the ability to move things with her mind. She is forced to become independent at a young age when her parents ignore her. Her family are all ignorant crooks who enjoy being lazy or pulling a get-rich-quick scam. When Matilda starts school she meets a teacher named Ms. Honey, who appreciates Matilda’s love for learning. But her principal is a frightening woman who hates children. With the help of some new friends and her own strength Matilda is able to overcome almost any obstacle.
Matilda is an old movie from my childhood. It teaches young girls that they can be strong and independent. It also encourages a love of books and reading. It's a very feel good, heartfelt film,perfect to watch with friends or family.
