The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circuses have decided to retire their elephants and year and a half earlier than planned. The previous announcement about the elephant's retirement was that they would be relocated to the Ringling Bros. Center for elephant conservation. Now, the elephants will be moved to the Conservation Center in central Florida. The Conservation Center was built in 1995 as a place for the elephants to be cared for and studied.
Soon, forty-two Asian elephants with be relocated to their new home in Florida. The area is around two-hundred acres and will be perfect for the many elephants that will soon be there. Though this decision was made sooner than expected, the staff is working hard to prepare for this drastic move.
