Paris Taxi Drivers Protest for 3rd Straight Days

Hundreds of taxi drivers waving flags and shouting angrily marched through central Paris on Thursday. This was the third day of protests against rival services such as Uber. Taxis parked during a protest in front of Arch de Triomphe in downtown Paris, early Wednesday and have continued to protest. City authorities are currently warning of roadblocks and traffic disruptions.

The demonstrators were prevented from reaching the Champs Elysees by a police roadblock. Some swarmed around taxis that weren't participating in the strike, yelling at the drivers and kicking their cars. Traditional taxi drivers say they're suffering unfair competition from app-based Uber, which has faced legal challenges around Europe. Uber argues the sector needs to catch up with the times.
