The Media and Religion

How strong is the media’s influence on religion? There are some who say that the media is brainwashing people into excluding the Bible and Christianity from everyday life and instead promoting Atheism. Personally, I do not agree with this statement. In a country basically founded on spiritual beliefs, the things shown in the media are far from what was considered “the norm.” There are things that are less than appropriate but there is also acceptance of people who live or believe differently. In the Bible it talks about God’s love for others and how we have to share that love. While we can share our beliefs we cannot force others to believe as we do. It is important to let God be the judge and to still treat people kindly. Brainwashing is taking this too far. The media is not brainwashing us into forgetting about God. It is promoting acceptance. If it is true that God’s invisible attributes are clearly seen than the media cannot take God away.
