Former Miss America Contestant Passes Away

Former Miss America contestant, Cara McCollum, passed away this past week. The week before, she was driving down a wet highway when her car spun out and crashed into trees. McCollum was originally from Forrest City, Arkansas but was in the Miss America pageant representing New Jersey. She was an anchor on “SNJ Today”. Her co-worker and chief operating officer of the station, Frank DiMauro, had to confirm on air that McCollum had, in fact, passes away. Soon following her death, the family posted on Facebook, "We've prayed constantly for a miracle, and we believe God has answered our prayers. Although it's not the miracle that we first envisioned, it's a miracle nonetheless." By saying this, the family is acknowledging that though this was a horrible tragedy, God was ultimately in control and knew what was going on. He knew it was better for her to leave this Earth.
