Steph Curry. Unless you started living under a rock in 2013, you should at least recognize his name. In the past two years, he has moved from a simple NBA player to a national icon. Curry is most famous for his Cinderella story of leading his team, the little known Golden State Warriors, to their first NBA championship since 1975 and achieving the NBA MVP. He not only reigns on the basketball court, but on social media as well. His name is even dropped in several rap songs, the most famous being “0-100” by famous rapper Drake.
However, on social media he shares the stage with his family. As Steph Curry’s fame grew, so did his daughter’s. Known for sitting with her father during his after game interviews, Riley quickly drew her own fans with her cute antics, like singing popular rap songs, or mimicking the moves her father made on the court.
While some thought that Curry was a one-hit wonder, this season is showing that he and his team are determined to keep up their standard of excellence. In their first games of the season, the Golden State Warriors, dominated, and are currently undefeated. The reigning MVP of the NBA is showing why he is one of the top players in the league. Curry is averaging at least 35 points a game, and seems to be on the road for a second MVP this year. He has proven that hard work pays off, and is loved for his humble approach to the game. I hope he keeps that humble approach and stays that role model for all of the young people trying to follow in his footsteps
