Even after just coming back from his hamstring injury, Marshawn Lynch is probably one of the top five best running backs in the league right now. While he is very skilled, Lynch has never been a fan of the media. He has been fined over 100,00 thousand dollars in the past year alone because he didn’t attend several after game interviews. He may be considered one of the meanest players during his games, but take off the helmet and Marshawn is nothing but heart. In 2014, he went out of his way to return a wallet to a man who dropped it, in his shock at seeing Marshawn at a local gas station. Apparently, his good deeds haven’t stopped there. So, while he’s not known for his words, his actions both on and off the field more than make up for it.
After the Seahawks defeated the cowboys on November 1st, Lynch stopped by a Mcdonalds to get something to eat before heading home. While in the restaurant, Marshawn met Terrance Downs. Downs, an employee at McDonald's, was mopping the floor and told Lynch that he liked his shoes, navy blue Buscemis. This got them talking, and Marshawn asked what Terrence wanted to do with his life. After Downs told him he wanted to open a boutique, Marshawn gave Terrance $500 and told him to go buy the shoes he was wearing. Lynch told him that “ he wanted to see him [Downs] succeed in life.” Of course, Downs followed Lynch’s instructions to a tee, and used the money to buy those shoes. I’m sure this was a surprise that Terrance Downs certainly wasn’t expecting. Maybe one day I’ll bump into Marshawn Lynch and experience his great generosity. Until then, at least that’s one more person with a new pair of Buscemis.
