Top 10 Memories - Zoe

10. When we played our last volleyball game.
We had our final volleyball game this year. We had lost every game and we really didn't want to play another. Since we were really bad, we ended up playing the top team and got absolutely crushed. that wasn't great but we never had to play volleyball with that coach again so I was ecstatic.

9. The Epic Nerf War of 2016
During the staycation, there was a boy vs girl nerf war. The boys tried to ambush us and we fought back valiantly. However, it was 11 o'clock at night and we were so loud that security actually got called.

8. Free pancakes on international pancake day.
IHOP had a free pancake day and the plan was for Renee and I to go alone. But, we told people where we were going and by the end of the day three other people went with us. The free pancakes were the best and we ate in under 15 minutes.

7. Senior trip catfish marathon.
During staycation, we spent a lot of time on the couch watching tv. The only appropriate and interesting show that we could all watch was Catfish. We must have seen 20 episodes by the end of the week.

6. Senior pics at the beach in 30 degree weather
I decided to get Jasmine to take my senior pictures at the last minute. We needed a good background, so we ended up taking pictures at Huntington. It was freezing, and the wind blown sand actually really hurt, but it was super funny cause we knew we looked absolutely ridiculous.

5. Keira's birthday party
For Keira's birthday party, we went to her house to hang out. We got progressively tired and by the end of the night, we had convinced the boys to try and fit through the doggie door.

4. Valentine's Day
I got to spend Valentine's Day with Jasmine, and ate the best Indian food ever.

3. Staying up all night on staycation
For our senior challenge, we were required to stay up all night with some seniors. It took everything in us to not go to sleep and by the morning time we were completely exhausted.

2. Leaving NYSUM
We went on a missions trip before Christmas and it was horrible. Keira got sick and the rooms were so tiny and it was generally just bad. However, there wasn't anything like taking a shower in my own home when we got back.

  1. Becoming Co-Valedictorian
For most of our school careers, my friend Renee and I have had the same G.P.A’ s. We took the same classes and got the same grades. When we started our senior year, our G.P.A’s were different by a hundredth of a point. Instead of fighting, we finally convinced our guidance counselor to let us be Co- Valedictorians.

  1. Nerf fight   While on the senior trip the Norton’s decided we should have a girl vs boy nerf gun war. The boys tried to sneak attack us by climbing over the rails through our back door. All though it was painful  it was still a lot of fun.
  2. Swimming with squad I've been wanting to go swimming all year. When we went on the senior trip i found out there was a pool. I spent almost every other day swimming with the girls.
  3. Hot tub room parties with Halsey  The boys took forever eating their food during staycation. So the pool was closed before we got home. I suggested we use the whirlpool jets in the bathtub we had in our room as a hot tub. We sang songs and just enjoyed the warm water.
  4. Watching catfish marathons During our down time, we liked to sit on the couches and watch tv. The show everyone fell in love with was Catfish. I had been watching it a while but it was fun to watch the girls and guys get invested.
  5. At the walmart Walmart doesn't necessarily allow the customers to play on their bikes or baby cars but that didn't stop us. I rode on a baby tractor to my heart's content. Then we messed around in the ugly scarves and hats.

Top 10 Memories - Kenny

  1. My final football game in high school
    1. I’ve played football for 7 years of my life and it has truly transformed into one of my favorite passions. Being that I’m a senior and it is my final year of high school, I had to prepare for my final game. That day came in November as I was on my crutches in Quantico, Virginia, watching my teammates play in the championship game, while I tried to coach them to victory. When the final second passed, I was in tears as all of my fond memories of football came flooding back into my mind.
  2. My Touchdown
    1. One of my dreams in football was to score a touchdown. I had waited 6 long years of scoreless games and all I wanted was to score. You see as an offensive and defensive lineman, my job is to assist others in scoring and prevent others from doing so. So in my final game that I played in, my coach handed me the ball and I was able to make it across the goal line and score my touchdown.
  3. Seniors win the spirit stick
    1. Since I was in 6th grade, I’d always wanted to win the spirit stick. Some years there were grades that were just better than us and some years our class just didn’t feel like trying. But this year, to model our theme of go big or go home, the seniors pulled it all together and we screamed our heads off and won the stick.
  4. Homecoming Court
    1. My sister attended Hampton Christian until 2006, and when she was a senior, she was elected a senior princess, so since then I’ve wanted to follow in her shoes and try to become a homecoming prince. It was also an honor to participate because it showed that my classmates thought I was a worthy option to represent our class on the court, truly a special night.
  5. Senior trip
    1. As all the seniors can attest to, our senior trip was amazing. We had a great time and we grew together a lot as classmates. I think that one thing that really made this a great trip was the fact that a lot of the senior learned to conquer fear and step out of their comfort zone.
  6. Getting a Job
    1. Earlier this February, I applied and later got a job at Chick-fil-A. This experience changed my whole life as I lost all of my weeknights. But even though it’s not the most fun thing in the world, I have to say that the people I have met while working here are genuinely good people, these guy are fun and I get to work with my best friend Josh so I can’t complain.
  7. Progressed in friendships
    1. I knew that I had “friends” in this school, but this year I got to really find out who my genuine friends are. I found out who those people are that will be by my side when times get tough and for that I am grateful.
  8. Volleyball Senior Night
    1. My senior girls did great on their senior night. I loved getting to help lead chants to support our girls’ team and seeing them fight on and put on a great show. I loved holding posters and seeing the smile on the team’s face.
  9. 4.0 GPA
    1. Since I was in middle school I dreamed of a 4.0 GPA and for the first time ever. I was shocked if I’m being honest. I didn’t know that I was going to get that so it was truly a great moment.
  10. Graduating
    1. It’s here, it’s finally here! After finally graduating after 15 years, I will attend ODU in 2016, but it’s been a fun ride. Bye HCA

Top 10 Memories From This School Year
  1. Bus ride home from Broadwater after a volleyball game.
We were too tired to do anything and we all ended up sounding drunk.
  1. Going to Busch Gardens with a few friends from school over spring break.
While we were there, one of my guy friends screamed at a higher pitch than most girls could ever hit.
  1. Walking to a coffee shop and restaurant with Ana.
It was snowing and Ana ended up spilling her drink all over the place because she didn't want a lid on it.
  1. Practicing for chapel at a friend's house.
We didn't actually practice for that long and it ended up just random  laughter followed by one of us falling out of a chair onto the floor.
  1. Random dance party in the parking lot after school.
Basically, a bunch of us decided to blast music out of someone's car and dance and sing our lungs out for like 45 minutes.
  1. Dress shopping and getting ready for homecoming with Ana.
It took us hours and most of it was just spent blasting music out of my room and our parents questioning us.
  1. Birthday party
We had nerf gun wars and played dodge ball. One of my friends even showed up in a dinosaur costume.
  1. Homecoming Dance
It was super fun to be able to hang out with everybody and dance for hours. Those are the memories we will bever forget. Hanging out after the dance was pretty sweet too
  1. Senior Night Basketball Game
I honestly cannot twllbu how the game went but it was fun...for some of us. Justin ended up tearing some stuff in his knee but other than that, great times.
  1. Mockingjay Part 2
    1. For Abby's birthday, we went to see Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2. We were having alot of fun and we enjoyed almost crying together.

NFL Mock Draft 3X

16. Detroit Lions- Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State
6’7”, 310 lbs, who wouldn’t want this physical freak on their side? Taylor Decker has been a dominant player for the Buckeyes over the last few years, but what people are really talking about is the fact that many think he was ready for the NFL last year, but decided to opt out for one more year with the Buckeyes. The Lions need a left tackle to defend young running back Ameer Abdullah and Matthew Stafford from harm.
17. Atlanta Falcons- Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
The Falcons are in need of a signal caller on the defensive side of the football, Ragland fits the mold perfectly. Strong, smart and physical are all things that could describe Reggie Ragland and with the Falcons in need of a linebacker with the 17th pick in the draft, don’t be surprised when the falcons take Ragland off the board.
18. Indianapolis Colts- Germain Ifedi, OT, Texas A&M
If the Colts don’t take an offensive lineman then they are making a grave mistake. Protecting Andrew Luck should be this team’s biggest priority. The Colts are probably the only team that could rival the Patriots for worse offensive line last year so look for them to take a long, lanky and strong guy like Ifedi
19. Buffalo Bills- Deforest Buckner, DL, Baylor
Buckner could make this easily the best defensive line in the game. Jerry Hughes, Marcel Darius and Kyle Williams along with Buckner would destroy offensive lines psychologically. Buckner is huge, strong, and athletic, so I don’t see why someone wouldn’t take him.
20. New York Jets- Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky
Either offensive or defensive lineman would be a win here at this pick. The Jets lost defensive playmaker, Damon Harrison, so they could definitely afford to take a quick off the ball defensive lineman to take his place. But, on the flip side, I could definitely see them taking the best offensive lineman available.

The Lion King

Truly one of the best Disney movies of all time is the Lion King. Even though everyone and their mama should have seen this I will give a brief summary.

In case it wasn't obvious this is a movie about animals. As a child you don't question whether or not the lions eat their subjects. But Mufasa (MOO-FAH-SA)  is the king lion who has just had a son. I don't want to spoil the movie even though once again EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT. The movie follows the life of Mufasa’s son Simba (SIM-BUH). Mufasa’s brother Scar wants nothing more than to take the crown from Simba no matter what it takes. With the help of a sarcastic meerkat and a lovable warthog oh and also a wise-cracking baboon, Simba learns just what it means to discover your destiny and what it takes to be king.

It's a really good old fashioned disney movie you can watch to the family. The songs are catchy and you'll be singing them forever. The humor is childish but hey what did you expect from a kid’s movie?
