Duct Tape Challenge Gone Wrong

We’re midway through the first month of 2016  and another challenge has already arisen. Its name:  The Duct Tape Challenge. The duct tape challenge might be the second dumbest thing that I have heard of  since the Kylie Jenner Lip challenge (where dumb white kids sucked on caps in order to get “fuller” lips  but just ended up busting the capillaries in their lips). The Duct tape challenge is a game where people are wrapped in duct tape and must break free. Kids all over the country have participated and posted their attempts at the challenge on social media.  Honestly,  what sense does it make to make up a challenge that involves being wrapped in tape and breaking out of it?I would list this at the Top 5 worst challenges. Plus, I only give it another two weeks before another trendy challenge is created.
Of course, as with most challenges , someone eventually gets hurt. This time it was a fourteen year old by the name of Skylar Fish. Skylar was sent to the hospital after participating in the duct tape challenge. During his attempt, his arms and legs were wrapped pretty snug in the tape. As he tried to break free, he fell over and hit a concrete and metal window frame. It put him in the hospital with serious damages of  a crushed eye socket and cheek bone. He underwent surgery for bleeding in the brain. This just goes to show you, just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

College. It's something you hear about most of your life, especially in high school. Once you hit the ninth grade you're supposed to work hard to get the highest grades possible. Now, I have nothing against furthering your education, but you DO NOT have to go to college. I know a lot of jobs require it but if you don't feel that college is for you, then you have to explore other options.

  1. Take time to explore yourself. And yes  I know that’s what every teen indie movie and book  says. But you don't want to end up depressed and distressed because you pursued something you never wanted. You’ll force yourself to take all these classes and declare a major because of parents or peer pressure or some other reason that has nothing to do with what will make you happy. Do what is best for you.
    1. First, start small. If you don't want to skip out on college all together, try community college. Take one educational class and one class just for fun, just for the sake of learning something new.
    2. Get a job. Whether it’s at a fastfood place or a clothing store, a job will definitely help you learn more about responsibility. Maybe youll love it, maybe you'll hate it but no matter what it would be an experience.
    3. Try new things. Do stuff you haven't done before or that you were told you shouldn't do. How are you gonna make huge life decisions if you can't even wear that skirt you want or dye your hair that crazy color??? Your parents won't be there to tell you what to do forever. Take risks. Not going to college is one of the biggest risks you can take, if you can do that , you can do anything.
  2. Concentrate on your talents and abilities. Never say you aren't good at anything. That isn't true. Everyone is good at something. Maybe it's art or music or just being kind to other humans.  Take that talent and work at it.
    1. Take some kind of class or find an internship that can help you further your abilities.
    2. Do community service if you have more of an emotional or compassionate sort of talent.
    3. Find other people who share your talent and exchange information with them. You learn something or you'll teach someone else something.
  3. Breathe. Do not Panic. The future is not set in stone. Not going to college does not mean you are destined for failure.
    1. None of us are built the same way. We all learn differently and live different lives. You know your limitations. Don’t push yourself over the edge. Even if you go to college you cannot control what will happen in your future. Instead of focusing on the worst or best possible scenarios just live in the present. Make the present better than the future. If the present isn't what you want it to be just push through until you can change it.

I'm not saying any of this will help. I'm only 18 years old and the future terrifies me. I hope that  I’m making the right choices and that I'll succeed but I'm not sure. All I know is that focusing on how bad the future could be isn't going to do anything for me. So, don’t worry.

Wave of Success

Josh Kerr has waved goodbye to fear, boldly riding the ocean to become the champion of the World Surf League's Big Wave Tour Todos Santos Challenge in the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.
The Australian surfer kept his feet firmly planted whilst the sea rolled and thrashed beneath him. Making waves, Kerr surfed his way to a combined score of 24.27, swerving his way past American Greg Long, who finished with a combined score of 18.84.
The second place finish moved Long into the overall lead on the tour, while Kerr moved up to fifth place overall after his Big Wave win. But he'll still have to wave off competition, as there are two more events of the tour which will finish at the end of February.
But for now he is certainly riding the wave of success.

Mystery Disease Sreads in Indiana Prison

Prisoners in Western Indiana are coming down with an unknown, deadly illness. So far, only one prisoner has died but it was said he wasn't in the greatest condition when he became sick. Doctors have performed an autopsy to find out what this possibly could be but the results will not come in until Tuesday. The prison holds around 1,500 inmates so people are doing everything they can to sanitize all the cells to stop the spread of this mystery disease.

Twenty-five people are being watched at all times in the Putnamville Correctional Facility while eleven of those people are being treated. The symptoms are very serious and flu-like; on Monday four of the prisoners were in intensive care. The symptoms began last Friday and the disease seems to spread quickly. Doctors are doing everything they can to find a cure and discover what started this outbreak.

Skype Hiding IP Addres in Next Update

If you ever use Skype to communicate with people while playing video games then you can potentially be ddosd. A ddos attack is a distributed denial of service, that will fry your router (not literally).
With Skype hiding your IP address you're still not safe cause when you play online games your IP address is still vulnerable to anyone that wants to ddos you.

I personally like the much needed update as it offers a buffer to someone who wants to ddos, because when i play any online computer games I like to invite other people to a Skype call so that we have some communication. Having been ddosed multiple times it's a relief to know that I can now safely add anyone I meet to a skype call without the potential of my router getting fried.

So I realize that my quick explanation of a ddos attack isn't that great so click this link for a detailed explanation of what ddosing is.

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead was one of the most highly anticipated and highly acclaimed games of 2008, rivaling both Call of Duty World at War and Grand Theft Auto 4. It is one of the best games I have played dealing with zombie first person shooters. The only game that rivals it as a zombie first person shooter is Dying Light and even still it isn't touching L4D.

Valve needs to bring back Left 4 Dead to the next generation console, Xbox one. L4D sold over 1.8 million copies and was rated very high by companies such as, IGN Gamespy, and Game informer. Why wouldn't someone with that much success move the highly acclaimed game to next generation gaming systems. Why let one of the most popular games of 2008 stay on last generation consoles?

Will Xbox and Valve hear our cries for Left 4 Dead to be brought to next gen. gaming? Left 4 Dead currently has over 33,000 votes on Xbox.com for backwards compatibility for the title. Many people want this game including me. The only question is will Valve and Xbox listen to the fans?

Easy Frito Nachos

If you’re snowed in this weekend, and you want a quick snack, look no further. Nachos are really easy to make, especially when all you need are a bag of Fritos, meat, and cheese. Making it only takes about 15 minutes.

The 15 minutes comes from cooking the meat. Heat the stove spot to 6. Put the meat in a frying pan, and set the frying pan on the stove spot. You do not need to add anything to the meat, but if you do, add a tiny bit of cooking oil. Cook all the meal until brown; once the meat is done, turn off the stove and set the meat aside. Take the Fritos bag and cut the bag down the middle, do not tear it open like you would normally. Once the bag is open, put the meat in, and add the cheese. Allow the cheese to melt and enjoy!!
