Me Before You

Not a lot of romance movies have come out this year with all the super movies coming out. But this one has caught my eye.

Emilia Clarke (from Game of Thrones) and Sam Claflin (Finnick from Hunger Games Mockingjay) are starring in it. They make a good looking couple and their chemistry onscreen is really believable.

Sam Claflin’s character is in a wheelchair and has been depressed. His family wants for him to enjoy life despite his accident. Emilia Clarke is a flash of color in his grey world. She spends time with him and shows him he can still enjoy life.

I think it might be sad but I haven't seen it yet but if you like romance movies go see it and then tell me what you think.

BY SYLVIA PLATH

I shall never get you put together entirely,
Pieced, glued, and properly jointed.
Mule-bray, pig-grunt and bawdy cackles
Proceed from your great lips.
It’s worse than a barnyard.
Perhaps you consider yourself an oracle,
Mouthpiece of the dead, or of some god or other.
Thirty years now I have labored
To dredge the silt from your throat.
I am none the wiser.
Scaling little ladders with glue pots and pails of lysol
I crawl like an ant in mourning
Over the weedy acres of your brow
To mend the immense skull plates and clear
The bald, white tumuli of your eyes.
A blue sky out of the Oresteia
Arches above us. O father, all by yourself
You are pithy and historical as the Roman Forum.
I open my lunch on a hill of black cypress.
Your fluted bones and acanthine hair are littered
In their old anarchy to the horizon-line.
It would take more than a lightning-stroke
To create such a ruin.
Nights, I squat in the cornucopia
Of your left ear, out of the wind,
Counting the red stars and those of plum-color.
The sun rises under the pillar of your tongue.
My hours are married to shadow.
No longer do I listen for the scrape of a keel
On the blank stones of the landing.

Sylvia Plath published this poem originally in 1957. This poem was part of an anthology, Colossus and Other Poems, that was published in 1960. Sylvia Plath wrote this poem in memory of her 80 year old father who had died. Many analysis of this poem was made to understand what she was saying about her father, or the possibility that she was talking her rights of a woman climbing the colossus of society.

Schilling Gets the Curb

Earlier this week ESPN fired baseball analyst Curt Schilling was fried for his remarks on his social media page. Schilling is a former all star pitcher for the Boston Red Sox and was a 3 time World Series champion, twice with the Red Sox and once with the Diamondbacks. The reason behind Schilling’s firing was because of a controversial picture that he posted on facebook that depicted an overweight man in a woman’s dress with a caption that read “Let him into the bathroom with your daughter or you are a narrow-minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die.” Earlier this year Schilling also compared Muslim extremists to Nazi Germans and then went on a radio talk show and said that Hillary Clinton needs to be buried under a prison. So with all of this being said, ESPN has decided to fire the analyst for actions that were “out of line.” In other words, what Schilling said was an opinion that leaned towards the right. ESPN is a historically democratic network and the second that a guy decided he wants to say his republican views, he gets fired? Well, I’ve seen plenty of times that a democratic view has been displayed on air and there wasn’t any problem. So why is it that Schilling is getting the boot? In my opinion, Schilling is expressing his first amendment right to free speech. If you want to say what Schilling said, you should have every right to say that because it wasn’t in his contract to not be allowed to say that so why fire him. It’s simple, because today we live in a society where if someone doesn’t agree with you, you automatically have either a phobia or hatred towards them, which is ridiculous. So in a nutshell, Curt Schilling was fired for being out of control for sharing his opinion.

Radiation Found in Playground

A man discovered high levels of radiation at a children's park in Japan. Four years after the Fukushima disaster, the Japanese are worrying about nuclear contamination again. The playground is more than 155 miles (249 kilometres) from Fukushima. It is not clear why the radiation levels are high at the park, but officials believe that it is not connected to the disaster at Fukushima. The park is now fenced off. A man who lives in the area reported the high radiation. Families in eastern Japan measure radiation around their houses. They do not trust the government which says that most places are safe after the Fukushima disaster.

Tragic Bombing in Syria

On April 28, a little past noon, a bomb killed at least twenty people. An air strike hit a hospital in Aleppo, Syria. The Syrian government released the air strike but it did not hit its target, but hit the hospital. Several of the dead were hospital nurses and doctors, while at least 150 people were wounded. Rescue teams are still trying to clear up the debris and collect bodies. This was one of the last places in Aleppo that had not been touched by fighting. Accusations have been sent Russia’s way because of their recent heavy presence in Syrian airspace. News on this bombing and several others are updated continuously on CNN and Arab News.

America's Next Top Model

If you love shows about fashion and drama this is the show for you.

Tyra Banks and some of her famous friends host a modeling contest. It used to just consist of girls but over the past few years they've included men as well.

The best part of the show has to be the makeovers the girls go through. Tyra usually has them change their hair to something completely different. After that they start posing for different makeup or magazine agencies.

The girls have to live together in the same house, which causes all kinds of issues. Women aren't meant to live together for long periods of time.

Not a Fan of McDonald's?

When you're a kid McDonalds is one of your favorite fast food places. (If not well then that’s your childhood)  The taste was pretty decent and of course it was convenient.

I don't have high expectations when it comes to my fast food but I want it to at least taste good and be filling. McDonald’s burgers have shrunk significantly over the years. They taste gross and very very dry. If the fries are fresh or atleast hot they taste pretty good.

And I won't lie I started going to McDonald's again once they started serving breakfast all day. I love being able to eat pancakes whenever I want.
